Decorating My Piano for Fall {And Making a Pretty Glitter Initial}

Now, I realize that Thanksgiving is just two short days away.

Which means that the fall decorations are almost passe because the Christmas decorations will be coming out soon.

However… I just couldn’t let fall flutter away like a dried leaf on the breeze without posting my piano {since I don’t have a mantel} all decked out for fall.

Yes, that’s where my Leaf Wreath ended up.

And I had a lot of fun playing around with pumpkins this year too.

Don’t you just love that copper tea kettle? That came out of my grandmother’s attic. Love!

Why the “Q” you ask? Well…In a move to protect my true identity {oohhh…doesn’t that make it sound like I’m a spy or something?}, I asked Nolan what letter who would like me to use to represent my fake last name {and you all know by now that I’m not above having fake friends} for the blog. He chose the letter “Q” – and there you have it! I am now officially – Jenna Q. I don’t know, it actually has kind of a nice ring to it!

I can’t wait to pull out all my Christmas decor! But I’m not rushing things. I want to continue to enjoy the beauty of the fall season for just a little longer.

Wanna make your own framed initial for your piano {or mantel or whatever}?

Here’s how I did it!

I simply used a fine-tipped glue pen from the Martha Stewart line at Michaels to write the letter “Q” on a book page. Wouldn’t it be pretty with a monogram too? Once my glue was on, I sprinkled on some delicious Martha Stewart glitter. Lovely! Then popped it into a frame I had lying around that came from Ikea. Hot glued on an oak spring {you know me and my oak springs: here and here}, but if you wanted to Christmas-ize it you could glue on a holly spring or an evergreen sprig or a candy cane or … you get the idea. And then I glued on a simple brown ribbon. And you could certainly change out the ribbon with the season too! So easy, but so elegant in it’s simplistic way.

Fall… I love it!

I pray each of you have a very blessed Thanksgiving! May you continue to dwell on the many, many things you have to be grateful for!
