Christmas Banner

I said that I would share more projects that I made for the Craft Fair that I was in November, so here ya go!  :)

My good friend and neighbor helped me out with this project — because it wouldn’t have happened unless I got some help!  I had the idea of making these banners from the linen I had left over from this project, and the canvas I had left over from this project, and some other material that I had in my stash.

In order to make these banners last, I thought it would be best to hem them on the sides so they wouldn’t fray.  I suppose they don’t have to be hemmed… but I want them to be able to be used year after year and not fall apart.  So, my wonderful friend offered to help me with the sewing part.  She cut and hemmed the ‘squares’ and I painted the letters on and strung them on twine.

And here’s the banner:

We had a few extra squares, so I made a “Noel” banner as well. One lady ordered a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner, so I got another reason to use up some of the scraps that I had.

We also made some that said ‘Give Thanks’.
We made them on cream colored cotton, and I painted the letters in brown.
Those were bought very quickly.

So there you have it.

Oh! … and check this door out!

Pretty cool, huh?!
I found it at my favorite little antique shop in our little downtown area,
and a friend of mine has asked me to turn it into a sign for a gift. :)

Still has all the hardware on it.

So, you’ll probably be seeing this door again.
Only not like this.
Though, I really like it like this!
Even just propped up on the wall like that.
It’d be pretty with a wreath on it.

Well, that’s it for today!
Happy Thursday!
