I decided this morning that, with the exception of keeping the laundry going, it was going to be a lazy day.
I’d ignore the laundry another day, but it’s been piling up too long to ignore.
So, this morning has consisted of coloring, playing in the front yard, trying on big silly hats, and an episode of Phineas and Ferb. ![]()

I wasn’t sure of what to post on today.
I’ve got a few projects that I’d like to get started on and share with you now that we’re pretty settled in, but that’ll wait until another day.
As for now, I’ll show you something that I had mentioned a while ago in this post, when I talked about the little flea market that I discovered [which we now live a block and a half away from!]. Though I still haven’t done anything to those two nightstands that I told you about, they’re being used anyway…
{Please ignore the dust, as today is my lazy day! LOL}
I’ve been so excited about this other thing that I found at the flea market!
We decided to hang it in our foyer, and you’ll understand why when you see it:
[excuse the glare on the glass, but there was no real good way to avoid it]
I have no idea what store it hung in, but I think it’s so cool to think about it!
The only thing on it to lead us to any history of it is the little plate at the bottom:
I don’t have any idea where to begin in trying to find out anything about it, including it’s worth.
But I love it! It is such a cool thing to have it hanging in this old house.
And for 25 bucks, I’d say it was worth it!
[Yup. That's right. 25 bucks. I could not pass that up!]

Silks & velvets, corsets, negligees, furs?! LOVE it!! I also love that the inexpensive dresses and coats were in the basement. Guess where I would have been shopping?
What a fun find!
I know!! I love that the “inexpensive” stuff was in the basement! LOL It tells a story, and I love that about it.
I just saw a documentary on Target, which started out as Dayton Dry Goods in Minn. They had an upscale department store on the main floor and up, and a discount (consumer store) in the basement.
Cool! That’s a great start! Thanks for sharing that, Brittany.
I hope you’re doing well!
