A Fun Change

I really can’t get over how blessed we are by having this house.  There are so many cool little things about it that I would’ve never have had on my “wish list” for a house.  It’s such a unique place and I’m overwhelmed that I actually get to live here and raise my kids here.  What a blessing, [thank you, God!].

One thing that is ‘extra’ is the fact that we have a ‘butler’s pantry’.  Yeah, I know.  I’ve only seen them on HGTV and never thought I’d ever live in a house with enough floor space to spare for a pantry!  Well, we do.  We have one, and I think it’s so cool!  :)

Here’s a picture of it from the listing.
She had it staged for showing.
I mean, she had to, right?
Who’s pantry is actually this tidy?! Well, it certainly doesn’t still look like that.
I don’t have all white dishes,
and I’ve got cans of food that need a place to stay,
So here’s my reality:
We’ve set that counter up as a coffee bar.
Cause… ya know…
I’ve got a thing for coffee(I cut those flowers from our yard yesterday…
they’re beautiful, aren’t they?!)

(I got that mason jar from this awesome little shop that gets me all excited when I go inside because it’s sooooo hick it’s hilarious.  The place is filthy and has so much stuff in it, but it’s like one of those places that you see on TV that these decorators go to and find treasures for cheap… and I was always like “I don’t know of any of those kind of places!”  … and then we moved to NC, and I’ve found several!  It’s like that auction that I told you about a while ago… I get all giddy and excited and I can’t explain it!  LOL)

ANYWAY!  Ha ha
[... talk about a rabbit trail...]

So, I’ve seen these chalkboard walls and knew before we even moved in this house that I wanted to paint a wall with chalkboard paint.  It took me this long to decide which one, as I didn’t want it to be tacky (naturally).  I want it to hint back to the history of the house too, with it being an old schoolhouse.

So here’s what I decided:I LOVE how it turned out… and I think I chose a good place for it.  :)
I did it while my husband was at work last night and when he came home,
(he didn’t know I was doing it) he loved it too! [YAY!]

We can write notes to each other in the morning,
or I can put reminders up there,
or I can put my shopping list up there,
or _________….

(Did you notice Karis’ little kitchen in there??  Ya, I love that too…  :)
She cooks in there while I cook in the kitchen… it’s pretty awesome.)

So, I’m pretty excited about this wall.
:)

Happy Thursday, everyone!
