Birthday Giveaway #3 {Time With a Friend}

Well, this is fun!

Are you all enjoying these giveaways?!

Here’s another one for you guys [ah-hem... gals] to take a chance at. :)

This one, like yesterday’s, is very ‘ME’… so, forgive me for that… though I assume there are those out there that share my taste in old, pretty things!  Right?!  Are you guys [gals] out there?!

Well, this one is compiled from several local-to-me shops… antique shops, coffee shop, candy shop, etc.  I like to support the locals, and saw this giveaway as an opportunity to do that!

Here’s what we have for today!

{1} 1/2 pound of fresh almonds
{2} Beautiful, antique Sheraton Johnson Brother’s plate
(I picked this up at my favorite antique shop!)
{3}  two ceramic candle sticks (from a local shop) and tapers
{4}  A Little white floral-etched bowl
(from World Market — ok, I cheated — but it was pretty!)
{5} Crackers (I’ll be honest, they’re not too special… )
{6}  Raspberry/Strawberry Jam
(homemade locally – no, NOT by me – I have no idea how to make jam!)
{7} Six little wedges of Brie (to have with the not-so-special-crackers)
{8}  Four amazing Truffles of your choice
– because the ones I took a picture of will not last until this giveaway is over!
(Purchased from our local candy shop.  Love that place!)

~ So there you have it.~

My favorite creative hobby would have to be a DIY project. I really like to make things that don’t cost much and can be used in my house.:)

  2. Mary Alice says:

My mom was the most inspiring person in my life, because she was so faithful to Christ, she never met a stranger, she was willing to tackle almost any project (especially cooking) and she taught me how to be a wife and mother. There are many other things, but these are the ones that stick out the most.

  3. laura says:

I really enjoy sewing because it is so fun to have people compliment me or my kids on what they are wearing.

  4. Jeanine says:

One of the most inspiring people in my life is my husband. He really loves people and loves God. He is happy to serve others and that challenges me. He is quick to help me too.

  5. Emily says:

    Most inspiring person:

that;s a tough question for me, but I’d say my 7th grade English teacher who has since passed away after suffering with cancer.
Even with all the crazy attitude stricken teenagers, she was so kind and full of joy and love.

  6. Emily says:

Project, 101 in interior decorating for the challenged and penniless. (I know that’s like a lot of you blog, but maybe like tips or something idks)

  7. Alissa says:

Most inspiring person I’ve ever met – my grandfather. He came to America as a little boy, but was as true to America as anyone I’d ever known. He decided to further his education at a time when many didn’t think there was much value in that, however he never graduated with a full Bachelor’s degree as he had to leave school and return home to take care of his mother and sisters after his father died. He worked hard and made my mother’s life better than his had been, and that continued onto me. He took care of his wife and daughter, more than most, but maybe that was because he came close to loosing them both. He lived with me for 6 years during my childhood and he treated me like a princess. He told me each night, “You’re the prettiest little girl in the whole wide world, and I love you so….” and I believe every word. He passed away when I was still very young, but he gave me so much, physically and emotionally. And I just wrote a book about him….lol

  8. Alissa says:

I’d like to see DIY painting patterns/designs…

  9. Kristin says:

An inspiring person? That’s a hard question! I am inspired by my mom. I look to her when I’m not sure how to raise my children! BUT I also am inspired by my husband who works so hard without complaining. (I should learn a lesson from him!)

  10. Kristin says:

This is a shameless plug for my own blog, but I’d love to see you tackle my Dress Project: Summer Challenge! ;-)

  11. Cindy A. says:

The most inspiring person I know is my friend, Todd. He is by far the most genuine and selfless person I have ever known.

  12. Shannon says:

Lots of inspiring women in my life, but right now it’s Wendy Rabe. I prayed and prayed for a mentor in my early years of homeschooling and about the time little Lucy made her appearance God gave me Wendy. She is in the midst of doing what I believe God wants me to do and is the greatest encouragement for me to stay the course, remaining focused on Him. Though she is filled with wisdom, she is humble and sweet and full of fun and service to others.

And she just gets me, which is uh a comfort.

  13. Shannon says:

    “such a comfort”

  14. Shannon says:

    Curtains

  15. Rachel says:

Most inspiring person…. hm… that’s hard to narrow it down, but I would say Elizabeth Elliot as I read her journal of how she sought after God even when it was most difficult (in her dating relationship with her first husband, her willingness to serve the people who killed her husband, and continuing faithfulness to God through her trials in life)

  16. Rachel says:

Project I would like to see: transferring photos onto wood .. ahem.. Jenna we need to get on it! ;)

  17. Calli says:

My beau inspires me. He went through such a difficult childhood but he is such a loving and compassionate person despite all that.

  18. Sarah says:

My most inspiring person was my dad. He was not educated formally but was able to teach himself typing and bookkeeping. It showed you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

  19. Deborah Gullett says:

My 92 year old Great Aunt Lillian is inspiring me the most at present. She is almost totally blind and spends most of her time doing things for others. She still quilts and makes Linus Blankets for children. She loves the Lord and her eight children and their families and everyone else. She specializes in seeing the best in everyone.

  20. Deborah Gullett says:

Have you ever quilted? How about a small friendship quilt? Friends could send blocks or whatever you specified.

  21. katy says:

I must say that contest entry thing is confusing. You can tell I don’t go on many blogs or enter many contests.
I think I’m supposed to leave a comment here.
The most inspiring person to me isn’t just one person it is THE person behind the person. I’m most inspired by people who know who they are and WHO’s they are. I’m constantly inspired and driven to be more Christ like when I see people living for Him. I’m inspired by the people that choose to lives that aren’t normal in the world’s eyes but choose it because its what God’s called them to do. People who love other people unconditionally inspire me and challenge me to be more like Christ. I’m inspired by people like Mother Teresa who devoted her life to serving others, the mother who gives up a career to stay home with her children, the friend that defends the nerd, the skateboarder who skateboarded across Nebraska to raise money for his park to make sure kids have a safe place to skate, the people that are persecuted for their faith, the people that pour our their lives in service to their Lord. I’m inspired each day by seeing men and women show their love for the Lord by seeing what He has for them and then doing it no matter the cost.

I would love to see some building basic furniture (like a nightstand or sidetable) for dummies. I am not a woodworker but it seems so attainable. I just need some help!
