The first giveaway ends tonight at midnight!
:)

So, now…

on to the subject at hand. :)

Remember when I shared that dress I made for Karis out of a men’s shirt?

This one is the same idea, just A LOT less time!!
[Yippee!!]

This time I used a women’s shirt that I picked up on Target’s clearance last summer.
I knew that I wanted to make this dress out of it, not actually wear the shirt…
but I hadn’t gotten around to it until now!

So, here it is:
You can probably tell where I’m going with this…
It’s a pretty simple process.

I just put it on Karis to size it and then turned it inside-out to pin it.
(it’s hard to see my pins, but they’re there!)

Then I stitched it and cut the extra off.
I used the extra fabric to make simple straps.
(I say ‘simple’, but they are what take the most time.)

Then I put it back on Karis and pinned them where I wanted them.
(She was SO excited at this point — she didn’t want to take it back off!)

So I stitched the straps on.
(vertically, in case you were wondering — if I had stitched them horizontally,
it would’ve really looked weird with the shirring)

And that’s it!

My kiddos love to wear hats.
(Lucky me!)

I found this fedora at Ross this weekend and snagged it up because it could be for a girl or a boy.
And it looks so cute with this dress!
[I clipped that flower on there to dress it up a bit.]

One thing I noticed after the fact was this bunching up under her arms…
… so I might take it in a little bit.

She’s so silly.
I love her.

:)

… Now go enter those giveaways before it’s too late!! {giveaways are now closed}
