So, it seems that I just keep adding to my [Project] To-Do List, and am crossing things off at an excruciatingly slower pace. Do you ever wonder what it’s like to have nothing to do? Ah, I think I would love that feeling and hate it at the same time. It doesn’t take much to find something to do or work on from the time my eyes open in the morning! (Relate??!!)
[Sigh.]
Now. On to this project I’m about to take on.
Remember the Intimidating Chair?
Well, I’m taking another upholstery project on!

I found this chair at a yard sale for $10 and decided to ask my sister if she wanted it for her birthday if I reupholstered it! She [of course] said yes, picked out and ordered the fabric, had it sent to me, and here we are…
I love what she picked out… it’s a little retro…

She picked out two different coordinating fabrics… one for the entire front of the chair, and one for the back… just to add a fun element to it.
There will also be some extra for some pillows.
So, you will being seeing this chair again in the not-so-distant future!
Now, in case buying furniture at a yard sale creeps you out… here are some tips…
Look it over really well. (That may seem obvious, but stick with me…)
Things to look for:
Water damage (including pet stains – Eck!)
Structure (good “bones”) — Sit down in it, make sure it’s comfortable and something that you’d actually use.
Bugs (yes, bugs… You don’t want to bring something into your home that has who-knows-what breeding on it.)
So, have I scared you from ever buying a piece of second hand furniture??
I hope not, because there certainly is a lot out there that’s in good shape to re-upholster, but you definitely want to keep those things in mind.
Take a chance on an ugly chair and make it a piece you’re proud of and that is “you”. :)
Happy Monday!
