31 Days :: Turn Up the Music {Part 1}

This is yet another post that doesn’t have any fancy shmancy pictures, but has really been a great help to me.

Do you use Pandora??

If not, you should.
[Yes.  That is a blanket statement.]

And here’s one reason you should:

Your kids.

I made a station just for them!
They love it!

Every time a VeggieTales song comes on, Simon (who just turned two)
yells “VEGGIE TALES!!!  VEGGIE TALES!!!  VEGGIE TALES!!!”

While my they’re playing, or having a snack, I’ll turn it on in the background.

I love not having to pay for CDs or mp3s without knowing if they will like it or not.

So, that’s my little tip for today.

Make a station for the little ones!

If you already use Pandora, you can stop reading here,
if you don’t know about it, then here’s short little ‘How-to’!

Go to Pandora.com
Here’s the sign-in screen.
So go ahead and sign up
(using that email address that we talked about on Friday, of course ;) )

Once you sign in, you can create stations to your liking!

Start off by typing in any artist, song, or genre and then you get to refine it from there.
It will then start playing songs that are similar to that song/artist.
With each song that it plays, you have the option to give it a
“Thumbs up” or “Thumbs down”.
By clicking on the “Thumbs down” button, you are telling it not to play that song on this station.

This helps it figure out what type of music you like.
However, if you create another station, that same song [that you gave a Thumbs down to] may play on it.

This is great for if you want to create one station of kids’ music that is upbeat,
and another station that is for them to fall asleep to.

So go nuts!  I’ve got quite a range of stations on my account,
and with Christmas coming up, I’m looking forward to playing my Christmas stations that I created last year!
